Creating a 100% natural deodorant with manuka and tea tree involves blending ingredients that offer antibacterial properties and gentle care for the skin. Here’s a simple recipe to make such a deodorant:

  1. Coconut Oil: Coconut oil acts as a moisturizer and helps to keep the skin hydrated. It also has antimicrobial properties that can help combat odor-causing bacteria.
  2. Shea Butter: Shea butter is deeply nourishing and helps to soothe and protect the delicate underarm skin. It adds a creamy texture to the deodorant.
  3. Arrowroot Powder or Cornstarch: Arrowroot powder or cornstarch helps to absorb moisture and keep the underarms dry throughout the day.
  4. Baking Soda (Optional): Baking soda helps to neutralize odor and absorb moisture. However, some people may find it irritating to their skin, so it’s optional in this recipe.
  5. Manuka Essential Oil: Manuka oil has antimicrobial properties that can help fight odor-causing bacteria. It also has a pleasant scent that adds to the overall fragrance of the deodorant.
  6. Tea Tree Essential Oil: Tea tree oil is known for its antibacterial and antifungal properties, making it an excellent ingredient for natural deodorant. It also adds a refreshing scent.

  1. Measurements: In a double boiler or microwave-safe bowl, melt together the following ingredients:
    • 3 tablespoons (45ml) Coconut Oil
    • 2 tablespoons (30ml) Shea Butter
    • 2 tablespoons (30g) Arrowroot Powder or Cornstarch
    • (Optional) 1 tablespoon (15g) Baking Soda
  2. Mixing: Once the ingredients are melted and well combined, remove the mixture from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. Adding Essential Oils: Once the mixture has cooled slightly but is still liquid, stir in the following essential oils:
    • 10-15 drops Manuka Essential Oil
    • 10-15 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil
  4. Pouring: Carefully pour the mixture into clean, empty deodorant containers or small jars. Allow it to cool and solidify.
  5. Storage: Once solidified, cap the containers tightly and store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  6. Application: To use the deodorant, simply apply a small amount to clean, dry underarms. Reapply throughout the day as needed.

By following this recipe, you’ll create a 100% natural deodorant with manuka and tea tree that helps to neutralize odor and keep your underarms feeling fresh and clean. Adjust the proportions of the ingredients based on your preferences and desired consistency.
